In this post we will tell you about a new project we will be working on in the next few months.
At Burnham Health Promotion Trust we are committed to the health and wellbeing (including mental wellbeing) of those in our Community. Participating in some sort of art or craft is well known to help those affected by anxiety, depression, stress and social isolation issues. It is also a great way to connect with children and have fun on a weekend or rainy day.
After the success of our last Art in the Community project - Rainbows over Burnham, we thought it would be wonderful this time make flowers and use them to decorate different areas in the village (the Care & Share, Church, our office & community notice boards at the Health Centre and more). There will be some that are indoors, so don't worry they can be made from whatever you like.
You may also have seen various displays of colourful crafts popping up in and around the village. We think they look wonderful & inspiring and just brighten everyone's moods!
It is also important to have things to work on at home, whilst isolating or not able to get out & about like usual. There's nothing better than putting the radio on and spending a couple of hours crafting. Crafting can be fun for all the family! This might be something you could pass on to your friends & relatives too!
Fun tutorial ideas!
Things to think about
With the current guidelines it is important, once you have made your flower(s) to pop then in an envelope or plastic bag ready to be sent/dropped in to us, at least for 3 days to make sure they are germ free and keep everybody safe.
There is no limit on how many flowers you can send and remember, this time it isn't a competition. We had some amazing work last time and we look forward to seeing and sharing more!
Flowers of different sizes would be great, but if they could be around 3 inches that would be perfect.
If you would like to post them in, our full address is BHPT, Burnham Health Centre, Minniecroft Road, Burnham, Bucks, SL1 7DE
