Active Slough Home Videos

So this is a local and popular one - Active Slough have their local class instructors online for you! See below and right for details of their classes. These are also available to watch after, so don't worry if you miss them or would like to try something that was last week or the day before!

P.E with Joe

Joe Wicks AKA the Body Coach has been dubbed the nations P.E teacher as he has been live streaming a 30 minute P.E lesson each morning to hundreds of thousands of families. The children have loved getting involved, sometimes Joe has worn fancy dress, done shout outs to people, had music and lots of other fun things. He definitely puts you through your paces, as my husband and three kids found out on day one of School of Mum & Dad!

Supermovers – Active Kids

Super Movers is a new exciting partnership between the Premier League and the BBC to inspire primary school children to get active.

Get moving with the likes of former England Defender Alex Scott, mathematician Katie Steckles plus special guests, Liverpool Football players Dominic Solanke and Joel Matip.

Want to know more about Super Movers?  Active children do better and get more from their school day. Super Movers will bring stars from the worlds of football and television together in fun educational videos which will capture children's imagination and get them moving. Sitting Exercises!

Not only is this video suitable for those with MS but also those who are less mobile, less confident and those with any other health conditions that mean they find exercise harder.

Pilates with Jo Tuffrey

Jo is an an established Pilates instructor and every Wednesday for the next few weeks Jo will be releasing a new free 30 minute Pilates workout.

You don’t need to be a member or log in to view her Wednesday Workouts.

They are recorded, not streamed, so all videos will be available to you, on her page forever! There’s also a bonus workout.

Workouts will cover stretch, strength, and relaxation. All you need is a bit of space and possibly a mat.

Power Walking!

This first one came recommended by a friend who is a WW coach and in the know with fitness related things!

The Happy Walk is a video on YouTube to help you walk a MILE. Yes a mile in your living room. You can smash this. It's got a good beat and the kids can join in too.

Secondly, we have the Disco Power Walk, recommended by Petra, our Tesco Community Champion Volunteer, who we work closely with. She and her family love this lady in particular.  It is fast paced and funky (who doesn't love a bit of ABBA?).

Ballroom & FIT at 50 with Anton

And for those who like a bit more of a classic style, we present Anton!

Anton Bu Beke from Strictly Come Dancing is also live streaming dance lessons on his YouTube channel.

Dance class at 11am and FIT at 50, an exercise class at 3pm. Wow this guys is a busy bee!

Oti Mabuse from Strictly Come Dancing and her husband have been making dance classes and streaming them on her YouTube channel. There are lots to chose from and I think these will really get the youngsters interested in dancing.

Silver Swans – Online ballet classes for the older learner!

The Royal Academy of Dance are offering FREE online ballet exercise classes, designed to get the older generation moving to the music at home.

From experienced dancers to those that don’t know their plié from their pointe, older learners of any ability are invited to try out free Silver Swans classes.

Shared in manageable bitesize videos, viewers can work on these during the week before moving onto the next exercise.

Classes are lead by RAD teacher and Silver Swans expert practitioner, Sarah Platt.

Couch to 5K

Now this is one I'm sure you will have heard of. Couch to 5k has been around for a number of years and has a really successful training app.

Couch to 5k is a training plan started back in 1996 by Josh Clark of the sports site Cool Running. Clark created it as a plan to get new runners from having no running experience to being able to complete 3.1 miles, or a 5k. It is a nine-week plan that includes three workouts per week for 20 to 30 minutes.
